OMDigital
Serendipity is an amazing thing. A month after acquiring my first CNC machine I met Dave and Steve from OMDigital. It was 2009 and their small startup was making waves in the Digital Experience world, despite lacking an autonomous product. I agreed to design and fabricate their first free-standing photobooth and the rest is history. Over the following 9 years our partnership produced several successful products that are in use all over the world. OMDigital is now an internationally recognized company specializing in experiential capture production and digital technology.

White House
Commemorative Ornament Replica
Without a doubt this was the most challenging project I have ever completed. Fabricated entirely from machined laminate, wood, acrylic, and Chemetal™, the final product weighed 100 lbs., stood 84" tall and was delivered/installed 3 hrs before the official White House ceremony. Stressful you ask? Check out these stats:
• Sleepless nights - 15
• Consecutive hours without rest - 68
• Buckets of KFC consumed - 11
• Total hours worked in 4 weeks - 300
• Unannounced delegates at my shop - 4

PLYlite
The precision and speed of a CNC machine begs for mass production. With this in mind I set about designing a product that could ship flat, require no glue or fasteners for assembly, be mass produced, and use minimal material. The result was PLYlite: a DIY lamp shade cut from a single sheet of Baltic Birch plywood. Providing various configurations, multiple uses, simple instructions, and a self-contained carton, these continue to be a major hit within the DIY market. Each design is named after a town in England: the Ashford and Buxton are shown.

SewellWorks
A good friend of mine coined the term "shiggles"..... you know, when you're waiting for paint to dry and the CNC machine is just begging to be played with. This best describes “SewellWorks”—a collaboration between my wife and me, inspired by good typography, clever sayings, and silly ideas. These playful and obtuse side projects might seem arbitrary, but they remain profitable and have shipped to 10 different countries world wide.
